8 Solutions has been nominated as a finalist in The Datacentre Solutions (DCS) Awards. These prestigious industry awards, launched last year, recognise the achievements of end-users, channel partners and vendors alike, rewarding the products, projects and services as well as honouring companies and the teams operating in data centre fields.
Judging for the 2012 DCS awards took place at the end of March, with a panel of judges made up of respected editors and analysts who shortlisted the strongest contenders.
Phil Alsop, editor of Datacentre Solutions, said: “Introduced in 2011, the awards have doubled the number of entries this year resulting in a fascinating competition for online votes ahead of the awards night in May and a significant contribution to our nominated awards charity.”
Entering the ‘Datacentre Service Provider of the Year’ category, 8 Solutions has been selected as a finalist by the judges along with seven other companies. Competition to reach this year’s final has been tough, with a record number of organisations putting forward a submission. All nomination fees are being donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
As the UK’s leading data centre healthcare company specialising in the deep cleaning and decontamination of critical environments, 8 Solutions is delighted to reach the final. A spokesperson for the company said: “This is a great testament to the hard work and dedication of the employees at 8 Solutions who have carried out over 90,000 data centre cleans. This is our first year of entering the awards and we pleased to have reached the final especially given the tough competition this year”
In total, there are twelve awards categories including Enterprise Datacentre Project of the Year, Public Sector Datacentre Project of the Year, Green Datacentre Project of the Year, Datacentre Professional of the Year, Datacentre Service Provider of the Year, Datacentre Hosting Provider of the Year, Public Cloud Product of the Year, Private Cloud Product of the Year, Datacentre Storage Hardware Product of the Year, Datacentre Storage Software Product of the Year, Datacentre Networking Product of the Year, and Datacentre Power & Cooling Product of the Year.
The winners will be announced at a gala evening event being held on 23 May at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in central London.
